The victim reported that the suspect, Omarion Rayshawn Steward, had arranged a meeting to conduct a transaction, but upon arrival, another individual approached and pointed a gun at the victim, forcing them to exit the vehicle. Steward and the armed accomplice then fled the scene in the stolen Camry.

Several hours later, deputies learned the location of the stolen vehicle and initiated a pursuit. Witnesses described the chase as a high-speed affair, with multiple law enforcement vehicles, including an unmarked Impala driven by Deputy Christopher Brown and a marked Charger driven by Deputy Nicholas Boyd, giving chase.

The pursuit culminated in a dramatic collision around 1:15 p.m. near the intersection of Gordon Highway and Bayvale Road. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Steward allegedly rammed the Impala driven by Deputy Brown, causing significant damage.
